Fire and Emergency Services rushed its fire tenders to extinguish a fire that has engulfed a house in Dargah’s Fishermen Colony, not far away from Dug Park.

Police said there were desperate calls from the area suggesting that a house was on fire.

“We got a call about a house and we sent our tenders,” a person manning the Fire Service Control Room said. “Now there are claims that a school is adjacent to it but we do not have clear information.”

The official said their machines and men are at work and it will take them some time to brief the office. “We will let you know as and when we know.”

Earlier, there were reports that some arsonists have attempting burning a school in Sonawari. Though the local and the fore services intervened, the fire still has damaged the laboratory, the reports added. Locals had immediately rushed in huge numbers and saved the higher secondary school.
